Common man

Back here in India, the most common phrase used by all politicians, irrespective of party, religion and everything else is "COMMON MAN". In the local language, we call it "AAM AADMI". Each and every political party, promises to keep up the hopes of this so called common man, in their election manifestations.

But, who really is this common man??? Is he the one who read newspapers in the mornings, spends his day hugging his computer monitor and his cellphone, and have burgers and pizzas for dinner or Is he the one who lives in the platforms and eat yesterday's left over. Unfortunately, both have nothing in common, except that they are humans.

Well, the politicians have their own ideas. A man who doesn't vote, who doesn't pay his taxes, who doesn't open his mouth, when he is being fooled, who doesn't care to think about his fellow citizens. In short, the one who neither perform his duties nor fight for his rights. All who are ignorant of what a common man is being considered a common man.

And our politicians try real hard to keep everyone possible in this list. However, the sad part is that, the so called future pillars of this country feel proud to be in this list, ignorant of what it means to politicians. I really hop, they'll reconsider where they want to belong to, atleast after they read this.

After all, we are not just common people, we have something special and unique to each of us. Please slap, if someone calls you still a common man, because you are not.
