#define YOU ***

Hello Two Face. Well, sorry for calling you like that. But, you are one, aren't you? In fact, I am one, and everyone are. We are two personalities living in a single physical body, one hiding within and the other masking the hidden one. We are two different characters,sharing the same name, trying to co-exist with each other by keeping our differences in the dark. To simply put it, we have a single brain, but two minds.

When you were born, you only had small brain and no mind at all. But when you grew, your mind took some shape, rather shapes. It grew out of your experiences, memories, situations and other such factors. In some cases, it got split based on memories, beautiful and ugly memories, in some cases based on experiences, good and bad and in some other cases, by some other means. This gave rise to two different minds. One simply hides within and comes out only at times of distress, and the other protects it from outside. This difference brings a difference between your personalities, your attitudes, your behaviours, your looks and even your charisma when seen with your eyes and when seen by others'.

You can be a funny man outside, but a arrogant cannibal may be hiding within your smiling face. You can project yourself as a good soul to outside world, but you may be a pervert within. You can be friendly, but your inside may have a stinking attitude. Or Vice Verse. You may not seem to be friendly, but you may be caring from within. You may be a angry monkey on the outside, but as calm as Buddha in the inside. I can keep telling thousands of such comparisons. But i leave it to you, to figure out your personalities. Good luck with that.

"Well, whats the fucking difference it makes man, whether i am a two face or a single?", you can ask me. It makes two differences. One, Do you live as yourself? Two, Do you respect yourself?

Coming to the first one. Most of us, at most of the times, do not live as ourselves, or do we? We do things we did not want to. We went to school, we did home works, we studied before exams, we found jobs and did fuck in the job. The first thing, we do before doing a thing is think what others will think, If I do this fucking thing. We live by others rules. We live to satisfy others. We try our shit to please others. We never have our own rules or even if we have, never follow it.

But still, I don't think that's wrong by any means. You need not be yourself always. You eventually get bored of you and so do others. If you have a mask which can make people laugh, feel proud to wear it. If you have the talent to convert ordinary moments into magical ones, use it. Just find some other time, to be yourself.

The second thing. Respect. You can't buy it, you need to earn it. But when you wear a mask, to earn the respect of others, you lose your own for yourself. Trying to do funny things, to make people happy, you end up being the guy, whom did not want to be. You end up hating yourself.
And at other times, trying to please yourself, you earn the hatred of others more than the respect. Respect is a double edged sword. It is up to you to make it fail for which it was made.

Well, Tell me now, if it is possible to be a single face? No, the World may stand on the opposite side. And it is not easy to be a two face either. Conflicts in interests, Uncertainty in action and confusion in decision. All to be processed by a small brain which is less than 3 pounds.

Only a few people manage do process it properly and lead a balanced life, within and outside. Try doing that. You may want to shower in rain, your mother probably may not. If you can make both you and your mother happy, you are the perfect two face.

Christian Bale, as Bruce Wayne, wearing the mask of Batman, recorded that, "It is not what you are inside, It is what you do, that defines you". Well, Its incomplete. "It is not what you are inside, It is what you do, that defines you to the outside World. It is what you are within, that defines you to you". Try to define both properly. Life is a much more complex programming language than 'C'. It allows you to have two defines with the same name. It has to !
