Live and Let others Live

Once a LKG teacher gave each of his students 10 dolls of different shapes and colours and asked them to arrange them in some order. He gave them ten minutes before he went to each of their desks to see how they have done it.He went to the first student and asked him to explain his way of ordering. The boy with lot of enthusiasm explained how he had arranged them according to their heights. All shorts in a group, all talls in a group and so on. The teacher appreciated him for his work.He went on to the second student and asked him to explain his way of ordering. This boy had arranged them according to their colours. All greens in a group, all blues in a group and so on. The teacher appreciated him too.The teacher kept visiting each desk and learnt the boy's way of ordering and appreciated them. Finally he came to the last boy. He was angry at seeing the objects placed in no order at all. The boy has put all on the table and has done nothing. The teacher asked him with fire in his words, "Hey, Why didnt you arrange the dolls in some order? Why is there just chaos in your table?"The boy with a majestic smile on his face, said that the ordering he has used to arrange those dolls was PEACE and COEXISTENCE. The teacher had to shut his mouth.Lets us all learn from this LKG student what ordering our societies must follow.There is a simple answer for a very old philosophical question "WHY ARE WE HERE???". It is "TO LIVE AND LET OTHERS LIVE".

Unfortunately this applies to the lower ranks of the pyramid of society ha ha. It's a dog eat dog world.

Forbidden history: V.O. Chidambaram Pillai

The world has seen many entrepreneurs who run businesses to be successful and wealthy, but Tamil Nadu produced a man who turned an entrepreneur to fight the might of the British and to prove them that India can stand up on its own legs. In this venture of his, he lost all his wealth and led a life of sacrifice so that we can breath freedom.  Chapter 1: Early years V.O. Chidambaram Pillai (VOC) was born on September 5, 1872 in Ottapidaram (the same place where Veerapandiya Kattabomman's memorial fort is). He was the eldest son of Olaganathan Pillai, an eminent lawyer and Parvathi ammal. He did his schooling in Ottapidaram, Thoothukudi(Tuticorin) and Thirunelveli, learnt English from a Taluk officer, and read Ramayana and Mahabharatha with his  grandparents. After finishing his schooling, he was employed as a clerk in the Thoothukudi Taluk office briefly before he went to Thiruchi to study law. He graduated in 1894 and a year later, returned to  Ottapidaram to practice law.

Forbidden history: Vanchinathan, the young freedom fighter

Indian historians have always had selective memory. To them, the four cities of Shahjahanabad(Delhi), Mumbaai(Mumbai), Mahishur(Mysore) and Kalikata(Kolkata) form the boundaries of the country. Many a men have lost their place in Indian history due to this geopolitical blindness. One such man is Vanchinathan.  Personal life: Vanchinathan was born into a Brahmin family in 1886 in the southernmost corner of the country. Sengottai, the town in which he was born, literally means 'Red fort' in English, but this one is not celebrated as the other one in the northern corner of the country. As a child, it is said, Vanchinathan was polite and unassuming, almost shy. He also seems to have been studious, graduating with a B.A. from Moolam Thirunal Maharaja College in Thiruvananthapuram and a M.A from Baroda university.
