Is man, nature's best creation ?
Men have always taken pride in calling themselves, Nature's best creation. They feel thankful to nature, for having been so kind to them, by giving them the power to rule. But, by doing so, they forget something. This article will remind them that.
In real sense, nature did not create the so-called Homo Sapiens. It can never be called the mother nature. It just aided their evolution. And the real fact is that, men did not just evolve, to dominate the World. They equipped themselves to do so.
In the initial stages of evolution, when they had started walking in two legs, they were not the largest, the strongest or the smartest. They were too small for a mammoth, too weak for a bison. Nature did not expect them to rule, may be even did not want them to. Their existence was not Nature's intention. It was an accident.
Then what did push the men to rule. Necessity, not to rule, but to survive. The fear for life helped them invent tools. Had it not been the beasts, weapons would have sounded similar to life on Mars, probable, but doubtful. Need for food, made them travel, first by foot, then by wheels.
Fire was discovered, thanks to chillness in the air. Shelters were constructed, thanks to Nature's baker. The will to live, made them live. All these could have helped them survive, but how did they come to dominate? It could never have been necessity. It's something else. Yes, their continuous urge to improve.
A bow and an arrow or a sharpened stone could have been enough to protect them from their predators. But they go onto make nuclear missiles. Killing beasts have become fun games to them. They are no more a necessity. A bullock cart is enough to navigate from one place to other, until they want to go to Mars and Moon. Fire is no more seen just as a protector from cold, its being seen as a form of energy. A small bamboo hut could have sheltered them from Sun and Rain. They makes wonders after wonders and construction is now an art form. Not only these, you name whatever field, Entertainment, Research, construction, Invention are not only done based on necessity, but because of this urge to better themselves.
So its clear that, Men were never born to rule. They took the crown by improving themselves day by day. They were never nature's best creation. They equipped themselves to be called so. But, on their way to the top, they did learn something, that they are just a product of a small chemical reaction, in nature's big chemical chain. This made them respect nature. So will we!
