தலைவர் பிரபாகரன் பற்றி... கடந்த சில ஆண்டுகளாக நான் கண்ட சில முகப்புத்தகப் பதிவுகளையும், என்னிடம் சிலர் கேட்ட கேள்விகளையும்  கேள்வி-பதிலாக தொகுத்துள்ளேன். இந்தப் பதிவை தமிழில் இடுவதா ஆங்கிலத்தில் இடுவதா என்று சிந்தித்தபோது, முதலில் நம்மவர்களுக்கு புரிதலை ஏற்படுத்துவோம் என்று தோன்றியது. சரி கேள்வி-பதிலுக்குச் செல்வோம். கேள்வி: என்னய்யா எப்பொழுது பார்த்தாலும் பிரபாகரன் பிரபாகரன் என்றே பிதற்றி கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்? பதில்: தமிழ்த்தேசியத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட ஒவ்வொருவரின் நாவில் இருக்கும் பெயர்தானே. கே: என்னய்யா தமிழ் தேசியம்? பிரபாகரனை தவிர தமிழ் தலைவர்கள் எவரும் இல்லையா ? ப: தலைவர் பிரபாகரனை பற்றி பேசுவாதல் தமிழ் தலைவர்கள் வேறுயெவருமில்லை என்று தாங்கள் கருதுவதும் ஏனோ? கே: ஏன் மற்ற தலைவர்களை பற்றி பேசாமல் இவரை பற்றி மட்டுமே பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்குறீர்கள்? ப: எவரைப் பற்றி பேச வேண்டும் என்ற உரிமை எமக்கு இருக்கிறதல்லவா? கே: அதற்காக ஒரு ஆயுதம் ஏந்திய தீவிரவாதியை பற்றியே பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டுமா? ப: ஆயுதம் ஏந்தியவரெல்லாம் தீவிரவாதி என்றால் சேகுவேராவும் சந்திரபோசும் தீவிரவாதிகளா? கே: அ...

Black July is the name used to refer to the anti-Tamil pogroms and riots in srilanka during July 1983. A patriot and a terrorist are not much different. Both have motives. Both have ideologies. Both fight an oppressor, sometimes through violent means. And both are willing to lay down their lives for the cause they fight for. However, what differentiates a patriot and a terrorist is the heart. More precisely, the presence of one. That is why calling Velupillai Prabhakaran a terrorist is absurd.
