Shame on us ! ! !
What do you do when you see a filthy naked kid, coming close to asking for something, a man with unoiled uncombed hair, scratching his body with his hands, goes past you, an old beggar eating some one's left-overs? Well. what do you do, when you see someone walking without slippers on a dirty road, eating in an unhygienic place, playing with uneducated kids? You tend to jump away as far as possible to make sure they don't touch you. This is the case, not only with you, but with most of the educated mass of India (include me).
When you own a car, you look down upon some one who only owns a cycle. You forget to realize that, once upon a time, your father used the same cycle to take you to school. When you are a software engineer, you look down upon a farmer, who produces your food or the teacher who made you, who you are today, and anyone and everyone, whom you consider are inferior to you.
Why do we do this?? The answer is pretty simple....
Man has been and is a social animal. He associates himself with a society, he thinks he belongs to. Every society in itself, will have some unwritten laws and characteristics. As a result of association with a particular society, he tries to attach himself to these unwritten laws, whether he believes in them or not. Slowly, he losses his characteristics to the society's. After a certain period of association with a particular society, he changes his association with a new one. Gradually, he forgets is association with the old one. His old laws get overridden by new ones. He jumps like monkey from one society to another, hoping for the presence of fruits which have his name written on them, He leaves his old societies, when he believes he has done with all fruits there.
When a farmer's son becomes an engineer, he looks down other farmers, even his own father. Same goes with other societies too. They forget their roots. Educated look down the uneducated, rich look down the poor and so on... How do we solve this??? The answer is straight forward again. Dissociation with all other societies and association with the single society called THE HUMAN SOCIETY.
You are not a human, if you are only a biological Homo Sapien!
